Read on for the best Steam Deck settings for Cult of the Lamb. We've provided three configurations for three types of players: those who want the best visual quality, those who want the best battery life, and those who want a balanced mix of both.

Best Quality Settings (Native | 60fps | ~2.5h)

At native resolution, the game mostly maintains 60fps with the occasional dip into the mid-50s. These settings get you the best graphics Cult of the Lamb can offer. Every in-game setting is cranked up as high as it'll go, so you get crisp graphics and all the spicy visual effects.

The Steam Deck has a 60Hz screen, but we keep the target frame rate uncapped VSync off to keep the controls as responsive as possible.

Expect roughly 2.5 hours of battery life with these settings.

If you don't mind losing out on a few frames per second, these settings will give you what we believe is the very best Cult of the Lamb experience on the Steam Deck. The graphics are still maxed out, and since the Steam Deck easily maintains 50fps, you get a much more consistent gaming experience.

Limiting the refresh rate to 50Hz and keeping the TDP limit at 8 Watts squeeze another half-hour of battery life out of the Deck for up to 3 hours of uninterrupted gaming.

Battery Saving Settings (720p | 30fps | ~4h)

These settings will get you the most gaming time out of a single battery charge — up to 4 hours of uninterrupted gaming. We get there by making a few big changes in the settings.

The first battery life boost comes from lowering the in-game resolution to 1152 x 720. You can sharpen the image a bit by setting FSR Sharpening to 2 in the Steam Deck's Performance menu.

Pulling the graphics preset all the way down to Low gives us our next big battery life boost. This results in a noticeable drop in visual fidelity, but Cult of the Lamb is so stylish that it still looks great.

Those two tweaks alone will give you about 30 minutes of extra battery life. We'd also suggest reducing the framerate to as low as you can tolerate. Forty frames per second is the sweet spot for playability and battery life, but you can lower both the in-game framerate and the Steam Deck monitor settings to 30Hz and eke out even more minutes.
