Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen occasionally has minor control issues and cinematics problems that can be fixed by switching to Proton Experimental in the Steam compatibility settings.

And we're also reminding you, once again, to bump up your UMA Frame Buffer Size to 4G in the BIOS if you haven't already.

Recommended — Quality Settings (Native@60fps | ~3h)

These settings will get you the best graphics Dragon's Dogma has to offer. Luckily, this isn't a very demanding game, so the Steam Deck hits 60 frames per second in most areas of the game. There are occasional dips into the 50s, but they're sporadic enough not to be a game-breaking problem.

If you want a bit more battery life, you can drop the refresh rate and framerate limiter to 40Hz. This one change gets you another half hour of playtime on a single battery charge. You also get a more consistent experience, since the Deck hits 40 frames per second easily.

Battery Saver Settings (600p@40fps | ~3h45m)

These settings should get you nearly four hours of playtime, which is perfect for dragon slaying during long trips. Since the focus is on increasing battery time, we want to make changes that will reduce the game's load on the GPU and CPU. That means taking advantage of the Steam Deck's built-in FSR and turning down some of the more demanding video options.
