ELDEN RING runs perfectly out of the box. Once in awhile, you may run into issues with the game's anti-cheat when playing online. Don't worry; you won't get banned. Just restart the game, and you're good to go.

As with any other graphics-intensive game, we recommend going into your BIOS and increasing the UMA Frame Buffer Size to 4G. This allocates up to 4GB of the Deck's shared memory to its GPU, which can help with texture streaming.

Recommended — Quality Settings (Native@30fps | ~2h)

The goal with these settings is to set the graphics settings as high as the Steam Deck will allow while maintaining a stable 30 frames per second throughout the game. With these settings on the Steam Deck's 7-inch screen, we'd say ELDEN RING both looks and runs better than the PlayStation 4 version of the game (which runs at 1080p at 30 frames per second). That's really impressive considering the price and size of the Steam Deck.

Performance Settings (720p@40fps | ~2h30m)

If 30 fps feels too low for you, these settings sacrifice a bit of the graphics fidelity in exchange for a few more frames per second. This configuration gets you exactly that.
